Pim is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Marine Studies (University of Queensland, Australia). His research is focused on the ecology and community structure of mesophotic coral communities and the genetic connectivity of these communities with their shallow-water counterparts.

Lara is a Sea Grant Knauss Fellow at the Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research (NOAA, USA). Lara completed a PhD at Texas A&M University on the biology and ecology of cave adapted animals found in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
