I currently work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, Florida. I am a Geologist in the Coastal/Navigation Section of the Planning Division. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2005 with a Master\\\'s Degree in Geology and a certificate in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). My primary research interests are: deep water biogeography and ecology, taxonomy of marine gastropods, general oceanography, remote sensing and mapping, and scientific diving. My graduate research focused on taxonomy and biogeography of the deep water molluskan community encountered along the western margin of the Great Bahama Bank. Over several years of SCUBA and submersible diving along with extensive collection dredged sediment samples we have discovered several taxa which are new to science and made several novel biogeographical observations. The collection of Bimini material was recently accepted by the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and a publication is currently being edited and pending submission to Bulletins of Marine Science. I am currently in search of a PhD program in Geological Oceanography which will support continuance of indulging my passion for exploring and researching deep water marine environments. |
