Ecology and composition of deep reef communities off the Tongue of the Ocean, Bahama Islands

Porter JW

Abstract

This article and the one following by Willard D. Hartman present observations and experiences that the authors have had using two different kinds of small submarines called submersibles. The use of these vehicles has enabled scientists to perform investigations on hitherto inaccessible areas and communities of the sea. (Attribution to the Yale Peabody Museum)
